The Needle and the Girl

You sew your own crown. That’s how it is done. Stitch by stitch, the pieces are put together. The fabric you’ve chosen takes shape – plaid, gingham, ikat, ogee. Sometimes, you prick your finger. Kiss it and carry on. Sometimes, the needle misses its mark. Tug the thread and try again. Stitch by stitch, the crown is made. This is how its done. It is a Raintree birthday. Not bought but sewn.
